Update from Trading Places International

Attention Owners! Please review the following information.
  • TPI continues to service all existing banked weeks for exchanges
  • If you are current member of the exclusive benefits program through Trading Places International these are still available to you at this time.
  • New deposits are being accepted pending verification and release of the weeks from the Aruban Resort reservation personnel to TPI. Unfortunately delays in getting these verifications have been experienced recently.

Please call 866-889-8645 ext 300 for assistance for TPI banked weeks, exchange benefits or exchange questions.

Please note that all other benefits, owner reservations and redemption of certificates etc. continue to be handled by the onsite staff 011-297-587-9000, or reservation@thearuban.com.

We understand that many of you have expressed difficulty in reaching the personnel at onsite; unfortunately at this time we have no additional contact information for them other than what is provided on this website. In the event that new information is obtained we will provide updates via this website for you.

Letter to The Aruban Owners From Trading Places International

Dear Owners:

The intent of this communication with the owners at The Aruban (formerly “La Cabana Villas”) is to give a clear picture regarding exactly what Trading Places International (TPI) has been responsible for as well as to clear up what we have never, at any time been responsible for.

We’ve been seeing blogs and emails indicating there are some owners at The Aruban who are under the impression TPI has been a part of the on-site management as well as an owner/investor at The Aruban. Any rumors that claim TPI is anything other than a provider of customer service for The Aruban are false, and we wish to ensure that from this point forward the individual timeshare owners at The Aruban hear only the truth.

TPI has:

  • NEVER been responsible for any aspect of on-site management or employees of The Aruban. All employees of The Aruban were/are employees of the developer (Mr. Paul Moore)
  • NEVER been involved in any aspect of timeshare sales for The Aruban/La Cabana
  • NEVER been, to any degree, an owner, shareholder, administrator, board member, investor, or anything else associated with ownership of or investment in The Aruban/La Cabana

The following represents exactly the involvement TPI has had with The Aruban since we became involved with the association in September of 2007:

  • TPI was retained to process the annual maintenance fee billings as well as the subsequent special assessment
  • TPI was to assist on-site management with the inventory control aspect for the resort
  • TPI was to assist with the accounts receivable reports resulting from the maintenance fee and special assessment billings
  • TPI was to process new owner packets based upon the sales information from the resort
  • TPI was to perform customer service duties resulting from inbound phone calls and email inquiries from the owners at The Aruban
  • TPI provided certain products to assist the sales effort on-site
  • TPI was initially retained to provide a web site for The Aruban and subsequently had that responsibility taken over by the developer (Mr. Paul Moore and associates) early in 2008
  • TPI was initially retained to assist with the rental of the unsold inventory at The Aruban and in 2008 that responsibility was taken away by the developer (Mr. Paul Moore)

We realize there are many unanswered questions and concerns from the individual owners at The Aruban. We have done our best to direct those questions to the proper persons at The Aruban. TPI has officially resigned from our employment to provide timeshare owner customer-related services; however, we wish to let you know we will not turn our backs on the individual timeshare owners without attempting to provide some answers to the many questions. We have established a web site (http://aruban.tradingplaces.com) for the purpose of posting current and accurate information as it becomes available.
